About The Role We are seeking a talented and experienced quantitative developer to join our Treasury Markets Data Science team. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and operating the production infrastructure that powers our foreign exchange (FX) pricing, risk management, and trading systems. Your work will involve developing and maintaining robust Python microservices that support real-time data processing, pricing models, and risk calculations. You will have the opportunity to expand your scope into traditional quantitative finance areas, including curve construction, pricing of new financial instruments, and trading strategy development. Your contributions will directly impact Wise’s mission by enhancing our system reliability, improving pricing accuracy, and enabling smarter decision-making across our financial operations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including product managers, traders, analysts, and engineers—will be a key aspect of your role, as you translate complex quantitative insights into practical, customer-facing solutions. Qualifications * 4+ years of experience building and maintaining production Python systems * Strong expertise in microservices architecture, databases, and production infrastructure * Experience with streaming systems, real-time data pipelines, or event-driven architectures such as Kafka, Flink, Redis, etc. * Solid quantitative background in mathematics, physics, engineering, or finance * Ability to read and reason about models to assess correctness and robustness * Experience with testing, monitoring, and debugging complex, high-load systems * Product mindset focused on user needs and system usability * Excellent communication skills, capable of working cross-functionally with quants, analysts, traders, product managers, and engineers Responsibilities * Develop and maintain Python microservices that run quantitative models in production environments * Monitor system performance, set up alerting mechanisms, and ensure high reliability of real-time pricing and risk management systems * Contribute to shared quantitative libraries used across multiple services and teams * Design, implement, and improve CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and operational excellence * Respond to production incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions * Engage in the development of real-time financial models such as yield curves, FX forwards, and volatility surfaces * Innovate in pricing models for new financial instruments and products * Assist in developing and optimizing trading strategies and risk models, including VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis * Build backtesting frameworks and validate models for accuracy and robustness * Support customer behavior modeling, pricing strategies, and product launches * Collaborate with product teams to translate quantitative insights into customer-facing features and decisions Benefits * Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses * Flexible working hours and remote work options * Comprehensive health and wellness benefits * Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning * Inclusive and diverse work environment that values innovation and collaboration * Access to cutting-edge technology and tools * Global team with a focus on work-life balance and personal growth Equal Opportunity Wise is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all employees and applicants are treated with respect and fairness.
