Who We’re Looking For We're seeking a hands-on Technical Team Lead to lead our engineering team through technical excellence, mentorship, and direct contribution. This is a coding-first leadership role where you'll spend the majority of your time building, architecting, and solving complex technical challenges alongside the team, while guiding technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high-quality delivery. What You’ll Do We’ve designed this role around technical leaders who thrive on: * Write Code Daily: Spend 50%+ of your time building scalable solutions with Node.js, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS. * Leverage AI extensively: Create AI processes used across the company to accelerate delivery and increase quality. * Solve Real Problems: From mobile apps to enterprise workflow automation — our users build things that matter. * Guide the Team: Lead a team of 7 engineers and QA professionals, shaping architectural decisions, reviewing code, and driving best practices. * Improve Our Platform: Help make Fliplet faster, smarter and more secure. * You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Customer Success, and senior leadership — helping translate market demand into elegant, scalable code. Key Responsibilities * Plan, architect, build, and deploy features * Oversee and improve our AWS stack (Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, Lambda) * Work closely with the business, act as an initial point of contact for engineering questions and guidance * Enhance our no-code platform’s flexibility, scalability, and security * Mentor engineers and lead with empathy * Drive sprint planning, sprint reviews, and day-to-day technical alignment Technical Requirements Essential Technical Skills * Expert-level Node.js and Vue.js/React development with proven track record * Strong PostgreSQL and database design/optimisation skills * Extensive hands-on AWS experience (Fargate, Aurora, Lambda, S3, etc.) * Docker and containerisation expertise * Modern web technologies, APIs, microservices architecture and responsive web design * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices * Security implementation and vulnerability management * AI coding, integration and automation tools * Performance monitoring and optimisation (Datadog, etc.) * Proficiency in Cordova framework and mobile app development (iOS \& Android) Team Leadership Experience * 5+ years leading development teams in a hands-on capacity * Experience mentoring developers and conducting code reviews * Strong technical communication and collaboration skills * Proven ability to balance technical debt with feature development * Experience with agile development methodologies and sprint planning Preferred Technical Experience * No-code/low-code platform development * Multi-tenant SaaS architecture and scaling * Real-time features (chat, notifications, live updates) In Your First 90 Days You'll Quickly Become a Trusted Technical Leader By * Diving into our codebase, infrastructure, and processes * Establishing technical standards and engineering best practices * Mentoring engineers while influencing architectural strategy * Driving improvements to platform stability, speed, and scale What Success Looks Like Success in this role will primarily be measured by: * Consistently delivering high-quality code and technical solutions * Improving team technical skills and development practices * Reducing technical debt whilst accelerating feature velocity * Mentoring team members to become stronger developers * Maintaining high code quality standards across the team * Reporting on team performance to demonstrate impact This role is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our engineering team, drive technological innovation, and contribute to the long-term success of the company.
