Software Engineer (AI)

AI Platform Engineer – London Radley James is working with a leading global hedge fund that is looking to hire an AI Software Engineer to help drive the adoption of AI tools and agentic workflows across the business. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering and AI, building internal tooling, developing agentic systems, and helping shape how modern AI technologies are leveraged across a world-class investment firm. Responsibilities * Design, build, and maintain AI-powered applications and internal tooling. * Create and manage MCP servers and agentic workflows. * Establish and promote best practices for agentic engineering. * Define security policies and data access controls for AI-driven projects. * Migrate existing business processes to AI-enabled workflows. * Contribute to multiple projects across the organisation and help drive firm-wide AI adoption. Requirements * 5+ years of software engineering experience using Python or Java . * Strong SQL or NoSQL database experience. * Experience building and maintaining MCP servers. * Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker or Podman. * Experience using modern AI development tools such as Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or Copilot CLI. * Strong understanding of modern LLMs, including training methodologies, capabilities, and limitations. * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. Nice to Have * Experience working within financial services or other regulated environments. * Experience with cloud and on-premise deployment architectures. * Linux and Windows development experience. * Experience with Kubernetes. * Familiarity with Claude Code and Claude Desktop.
