Senior AI Engineer
At ENGIE, we build technology that powers smarter energy decisions. Our work helps accelerate the shift to clean energy. Your skills as a builder can directly shape how energy is managed at scale. This is your chance to create real impact through code.
We Want You
We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to build and ship production-grade, full-stack AI products. You will work hands-on, end-to-end, and fast. You will be one of the strongest builders on the team. You will turn unclear problems into working software. You will integrate AI and machine learning models into real products. You will use AI-assisted coding tools as your primary development approach.
This is a hands-on engineering role, not a management one. You will own significant pieces of delivery. You will make sound technical and architecture decisions. You will set the standard for AI-amplified engineering. You will help lift the engineers around you through example, code review, and mentorship.
Your main responsibilities include:
* Own end-to-end delivery of AI-powered features and services, from scoping through production.
* Write, review, and ship high-quality code daily.
* Make pragmatic architecture and technology decisions.
* Integrate large language models, machine learning pipelines, and AI agents into products reliably.
* Use AI coding tools and agentic workflows as your primary development method.
* Evaluate and adopt new AI tooling to improve speed and quality.
* Prototype rapidly, ship early, learn fast, and iterate with short feedback loops.
* Mentor junior engineers and interns through pairing sessions and code review.
* Champion testing, observability, and maintainability alongside delivery speed.
What Good Looks Like
In your first 6 to 12 months, success means:
* Consistently shipping production-grade AI features with AI cowork tools as the default workflow.
* Trusted to own ambiguous, high-impact pieces of delivery end-to-end.
* Measurable contribution to delivery speed and quality across the team.
* A positive influence on engineers around you through standards, review, and mentorship.
Who Are You
You are a strong builder who ships working software consistently. You care about craft and move with urgency.
* You have experience building and shipping full-stack applications in production.
* You have a strong track record integrating AI and machine learning models into real products.
* You have solid instincts for AI architecture, combining application code, data, and models reliably.
* You have hands-on experience with AI pair-programming and agentic coding workflows.
* You believe in AI-first delivery and practice it daily.
* You are fluent in several technologies across Python, .NET, Java, and React.
* You ramp quickly on new languages and frameworks.
* You are comfortable working across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
* You choose tools based on fit, cost, and delivery speed.
* You value testing, observability, and maintainability alongside speed.
* You are comfortable with ambiguity and take action without waiting for perfect information.
* You are generous with your knowledge and enjoy helping teammates grow.
Location
London, Broadgate Tower — Central London. Two days a week in-office, three days remote.
What We Offer
* A competitive salary package reflecting your seniority and expertise.
* Diverse, stimulating work at the intersection of AI, energy, and software engineering.
* A friendly, collaborative environment where builders thrive and ideas are valued.
* Flexibility and work-life balance through our hybrid model.
* Clear career growth paths within a global energy leader investing heavily in AI.
* Access to cutting-edge AI tools and the freedom to shape how the team works.
* The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the energy transition.
