Contract Perception Engineer – Computer Vision / LiDAR / Robotics – Hybrid (London)
We're looking to connect with Contract Perception Engineers who enjoy solving complex real-world problems at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and machine learning.
This role focuses on developing perception systems that enable autonomous platforms to understand and interact with their environment. You'll work across sensor fusion, 3D perception, and computer vision, helping build robust perception pipelines capable of operating reliably in challenging real-world conditions.
Skills \& Experience:
Essential:
- Strong experience with Computer Vision, Perception, or Robotics
- Python development experience, with C++ advantageous
- Experience working with LiDAR, depth cameras, or other 3D sensing technologies
- Knowledge of point cloud processing, sensor fusion, or scene understanding
- Experience with OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar computer vision frameworks
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and debugging skills
- Comfortable working across research and production environments
Desirable:
- ROS or ROS2 experience
- SLAM, localisation, or occupancy mapping
- Point Cloud Library (PCL) or Open3D
- Machine Learning or Deep Learning applied to perception systems
- MLOps or model deployment experience
- Experience developing autonomous, robotic, or intelligent sensing systems
