Machine Learning Engineer — Permanent (Office-Based) £140,000 This will be working at the curring-edge of militray technology, as part of a team that develop and operationally deploy advanced Machine Learning and AI technologies. Having recently closed a significant funding round, they are now scaling fast, with new contracts now confirmed and more in the pipeline. The end clients products span dual-use technologies that integrate AI with sensor data across the electromagnetic spectrum (EO/IR, SAR, RADAR, RF). Your new team has delivered demonstrations of decentralised, collaborative autonomous platform capability with major UK defence partners. The role We're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join the core team in the office, building and deploying ML models onto cutting-edge hardware. You'll work across the full lifecycle from R\&D through to deployment on real, operational hardware. What you'll be doing * Developing and deploying deep learning models onto embedded and specialist military-grade hardware * R\&D work on deep learning approaches, including Spiking Neural Networks * Building with Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow (RL experience a plus) * Working closely with hardware, sensor, and systems teams to get models running reliably in demanding environments * Collaborating with the FDE and delivery teams on client-driven requirements What we're looking for * Strong deep learning background; exposure to Spiking Neural Networks a plus * Proficient in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow * Experience in deploying models onto embedded/hardware-constrained systems * Open to candidates across experience levels Note: You will need to undergo full UK SC for this role.
