The role is a recognised authority and thought leader in their professional discipline. They define and lead strategic initiatives, shape practices, and drive innovation across the function or business.

You’ll make an impact by

Serves as the organisation’s primary subject matter authority with accountability for defining discipline standards, methodologies, and technical direction. Shapes enterprise-wide practices and acts as the final point of escalation for complex or high risk issues.

  • Defines AI governance standards, controls and assurance approaches (model risk, data governance, ethics)
  • Leads cross-functional governance forums and advises senior stakeholders on AI risk decisions
  • Oversees risk assessments for AI initiatives and ensures remediation actions are delivered
  • Builds organisational capability through guidance, training and reusable artefacts
  • Acts as subject-matter authority for audits, regulatory requests and industry developments in AI governance

Your skills and experience

  • Deep subject-matter expertise; recognised authority in own discipline with broad understanding of related areas.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving; able to create new approaches and methodologies.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills; able to engage senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Proven record of leading high-impact initiatives and delivering long-term value.
  • Digital fluency and ability to leverage technology for innovation.
  • Solid understanding of functional processes and ability to apply judgement within defined policies.
