Job Title: AI Lead Engineer Reporting To: Senior Developer Direct Reports: AI Ops Engineer Location: Basingstoke or London Hybrid working available (a minimum of 3 days working from the office, 2 days working from home) The job in a nutshell Owns the agentic platform end-to-end from a technical and delivery perspective - architecture, guardrails, working with business leads on design and costs and also with vendors. Sits at the top of the Central/Enabling team, with AI Ops Engineer reporting into it. Who you will work with Internal: AI Ops Engineer; Solutions Architect; Head of Cyber Security, Application Support, Infrastructure and Data teams; AI Business Owner; process area leads (Buying \& Order Planning Lead, Offers Lead, Customer Contact Lead) as the agent-owning counterparts across the business External: Agentic platform vendors; Suppliers \& SaaS Providers 3rd party business application partners What you will do * Owns platform architecture and guardrails * Owns the agentic platform end-to-end including cost and vendor management * Deliver new and enhanced capabilities in conjunction with the AI Business Owners * Sets the governance standards that AI Ops Engineer monitors against. * Provides the technical input into the AI Roadmap What you will bring to the role Experience / Achievements * Demonstrable experience in AI/ML engineering * Proven experience in prompt engineering and guardrails design * Experience with API integration and system architecture * Experience in agent monitoring and performance management at platform level * Experience of enterprise platform governance Your Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours * Strong platform governance judgement * [Desirable] Experience in Lyzr and/or Microsoft Foundry platform * [Desirable] LLM platform experience * [Desirable] Cloud infrastructure * [Desirable] Python / scripting * [Desirable] Data pipeline architecture We support our colleagues with a wide range of benefits: you will start with 24 days' holiday, and 3 additional days over the Christmas period and 1 Personal Day, Private Medical cover \& Health plan, Life Insurance, Pension, Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), generous Employee discount (up to 40% off products), and many more.
