This is a key role at the intersection of quantitative modelling, software engineering, and model assurance . You will help turn complex balance sheet modelling processes into reliable, repeatable workflows, with the testing, governance, and auditability needed to operate confidently in a regulated financial services environment. Balance sheet modelling is central to this role. We are looking for people who understand the modelling lifecycle and can combine that knowledge with strong engineering and assurance capabilities. What you’ll do * Industrialise balance sheet modelling workflows , automating processes and improving consistency, efficiency, and reproducibility. * Build testing and validation frameworks that provide confidence in model outputs, changes, and production deployments. * Develop AI assurance and model governance controls , ensuring appropriate oversight, transparency, and auditability. * Assess production readiness , identifying risks, control gaps, and dependencies before models and supporting processes go live. * Create audit evidence and controls documentation that clearly demonstrates how models are developed, tested, governed, and maintained. * Support BSM procurement and assurance activities , helping evaluate solutions, suppliers, and delivery approaches. * Work closely with quantitative modellers, engineers, model risk specialists, and business stakeholders to embed good practice across the modelling lifecycle. What we’re looking for You’ll bring a strong combination of quantitative modelling expertise and engineering or assurance experience. In particular, we’re looking for: * Strong balance sheet modelling experience , ideally in a quantitative, actuarial, or financial services environment. * Experience in quantitative or actuarial model engineering , including model development, integration, and lifecycle management. * Strong Python skills and experience working with model APIs. * Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks , including automated testing and deployment practices. * Knowledge of model risk management, controls, and validation . * Experience with AI assurance, model governance, or auditability , particularly where models or AI-enabled processes are being introduced into production. * An understanding of the financial services regulatory environment and the importance of robust controls and evidence. * The ability to translate complex technical and modelling concepts into clear, actionable recommendations.
