The role This company builds AI workflow automation for major financial institutions, handling document processing and natural-language data retrieval in some of the world's most sensitive environments. They operate where compliance standards like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR are non-negotiable, not aspirational. Backed by leading investors, they recently closed a significant Series A, making them one of the fastest-growing enterprise AI platforms globally. This is a foundational Applied AI Engineer seat, reporting directly to the founders. You'll own the development and deployment of AI-powered features – RAG systems, multi-agent infrastructure, and evaluation frameworks – from concept to production. This role is about shipping robust, compliant AI within a regulated enterprise platform. It is not a research position, nor is it about prototyping models in isolation. The work * Design, build, and deploy AI-powered features like RAG systems and multi-agent infrastructure directly into production. * Develop the backend services and APIs that power these AI applications, ensuring seamless integration and performance. * Construct robust data pipelines for AI model training, evaluation, and continuous improvement. * Own the scalability, performance, and security of AI components across the entire stack. * Mentor junior engineers, contributing to the growth and technical excellence of the team. What You Bring * 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of shipping production systems. * Hands-on experience building and deploying AI applications in production, specifically with RAG pipelines and agent orchestration. * Fluency in LLM evaluation techniques and tools for accuracy, reliability, and safety. * Strong backend engineering skills in Python (Django/FastAPI preferred) and relational databases. * Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and managing high-throughput background workers/queues.
