Role Description: The NLP Engineering Specialist is a full-time role in a hybrid work arrangement, based in Loch A' Ghainmhich, with some flexibility to work from home. In this position, the specialist designs, develops, and optimizes natural language processing models and pipelines to support Birbal AI’s ownership and digital finance platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and preprocessing text data, training and fine-tuning language models, evaluating performance, and deploying NLP solutions into production systems. The role collaborates closely with product, engineering, and data science teams to translate business requirements into robust NLP features, such as intent detection, entity recognition, conversational interfaces, and multilingual support. The specialist also monitors deployed models, refines them based on user feedback and new data, and contributes to documentation, best practices, and technical knowledge sharing. Qualifications: * Candidates should possess strong Communication and Project Management skills to collaborate across teams, explain technical concepts clearly, and drive NLP initiatives to completion. * Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to design experiments, interpret model performance, and make data-driven improvements to NLP systems. * Candidates should possess a background in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering if working on NLP solutions integrated with industrial, IoT, or manufacturing-related applications. * Candidates should possess practical experience in NLP, machine learning, and deep learning frameworks (e.g., Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers) and standard NLP tasks (tokenization, embeddings, classification, sequence labeling, generative models). * Candidates should possess familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, and MLOps practices for deploying, monitoring, and scaling NLP models in production environments. * Candidates should possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. * Candidates should possess a strong understanding of data privacy, security, and ethical AI principles, especially in financial and blockchain-related contexts.
