Salary: £39,906 - £44,746 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week Tenure: 12 months fixed term contract We are seeking a motivated AI Engineer to help Cardiff Metropolitan University turn the potential of artificial intelligence into practical, real‑world solutions. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will play a key role in designing and delivering applied AI use cases that improve services, streamline processes and enhance the experience of our staff and students. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, experimentation and collaboration, and who wants to focus on responsible, hands‑on use of AI. What you’ll bring Degree in a relevant subject, or demonstrated industry relevant experience backed with relevant professional certifications. Experience developing software incorporating AI or machine learning. Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, C#). Experience working with APIs, data sources and cloud platforms, including MCP Understanding of data protection, security and ethical considerations in AI. Strongly motivated, able to lead on related technical developments, and to contribute to cross functional developments involving multiple teams. Why join Cardiff Metropolitan University?
