AI Engineer * Up to £140,000 base + 20% bonus * Hybrid | London | 3 days per week * Backed by one of the world's leading enterprise software businesses I'm partnering with one of the UK's most ambitious AI ventures to hire an AI Engineer into a growing team building production-grade AI systems that solve real-world problems at scale. This isn't another company building internal copilots or AI features for SaaS products. Their technology supports industries that keep the world running, with AI powering critical workflows across manufacturing, utilities, aviation and field operations. The business * Newly formed AI-native business with significant backing and the freedom to build like a start-up * Solving complex, mission-critical problems using cutting-edge AI and agentic systems * Small, high-calibre engineering team with genuine ownership and autonomy * AI is the core product, not an add-on or innovation project The role * Build production-ready agentic AI systems using modern LLM frameworks and orchestration tools * Design and ship end-to-end AI features, from architecture and evaluation through to production deployment * Develop robust RAG pipelines, tool-using agents and evaluation frameworks * Partner directly with customers to understand real-world challenges and build products that deliver measurable impact * Work closely with experienced AI engineers in a highly collaborative, product-focused environment What they're looking for * Strong software engineering experience with Python and modern AI tooling * Experience building and deploying production LLM applications * Hands-on knowledge of areas such as agentic workflows, RAG, evaluation frameworks and AI observability * Product mindset with the ability to balance technical excellence and commercial impact * Someone who enjoys solving difficult engineering problems in a fast-moving environment This is a rare opportunity to join an AI-native business at an early stage, helping shape both the product and engineering culture while working on genuinely meaningful AI applications.
