FP\&A Consultant (AI \& Automation) £500 - £600 per day (Depending on experience) Job description An innovative research organisation is seeking an experienced FP\&A consultant to join the team on an interim basis. This is a unique opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys combining traditional FP\&A with technology, automation and AI. Alongside budgeting, forecasting and reporting, you'll design and build tools that automate manual finance processes, improve data quality and provide better insights for decision-makers. Working closely with Finance, Data and Technology teams, you'll play a key role in shaping how financial information is captured, analysed and reported across the organisation. Key responsibilities are as follows: * Maintain and enhance financial models, forecasts and budgeting processes. * Produce insightful management reporting and analysis for senior stakeholders. * Design and implement automation tools that streamline finance processes and reduce manual reporting. * Connect data across finance and operational systems to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency. * Develop financial reporting tools, dashboards and workflow automations. * Use AI and emerging technologies to improve forecasting, analysis and financial reporting. * Build and document robust financial models, controls and data structures. * Support wider finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives. * Work collaboratively across Finance, Technology and operational teams to deliver scalable solutions. You will: * Be a fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or possess significant FP\&A experience. * Have strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling. * Enjoy using technology to improve finance processes and automate repetitive tasks. * Have experience working with ERP, general ledger or FP\&A systems. * Be comfortable exploring AI, automation and low-code tools to solve business problems. * Possess excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills. * Be naturally curious, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. * Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau or workflow automation tools would be advantageous but is not essential.
