Principal Machine Learning Engineer Remote (UK) | Up to £110,000 Base + Bonus If you enjoy solving difficult machine learning problems at scale and want a role where your work directly influences product and commercial decisions, this could be a great fit. The Role As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of the ML function while remaining hands-on with model development and platform engineering. You'll be responsible for: * Setting technical direction across machine learning systems and infrastructure * Building and optimising recommendation systems, bidding algorithms and audience targeting models * Developing LTV, churn and attribution models used in production * Leading work across MLOps, model monitoring, automated retraining and ML observability * Improving ML platforms, deployment pipelines and experimentation frameworks * Partnering with engineering and business leaders to align technical decisions with commercial goals * Mentoring experienced engineers and contributing to architecture decisions * Driving best practice across machine learning engineering and production systems Your Skills \& Experience * Strong experience building and deploying machine learning models in production * Excellent Python skills and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow * A solid background in MLOps, model lifecycle management and production ML systems * Experience working on recommendation systems, optimisation problems or predictive modelling * Strong software engineering fundamentals and an interest in scalable systems * Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders * Experience in AdTech, programmatic advertising, DSPs or real-time bidding would be highly advantageous * A PhD in a STEM subject would be a bonus, not a requirement What They Offer * Up to £110,000 base salary * Bonus taking total package to approximately €150,000 OTE * Fully remote role within the UK * 4.5 day working week with Friday afternoons off * Longevity bonus every two years * Flexible working culture built around trust and autonomy * Mental health and wellbeing support * The opportunity to shape both the technical strategy and future growth of the ML team How to Apply If you're looking for a Principal Machine Learning Engineer role where you can influence strategy, stay hands-on technically and work on genuinely interesting machine learning challenges at scale, please apply to find out more.
