Senior Associate - Technology Transactions (AI Focus) - Private Practice Law Firm - London Client: International Technology-Focused Law Firm Location: London Level: Senior Associate Type: Full Time, Permanent (Hybrid) Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Associate to join their leading Technology Transactions team in London. This is an exceptional opportunity for a UK-qualified lawyer with significant experience in complex technology transactions, alongside growing expertise in AI contracting and governance, to work on cutting-edge matters shaping the digital economy. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of technology and telecommunications-focused commercial matters, including: * SaaS and cloud services agreements * IT outsourcing projects * Software licensing arrangements * Technology development and implementation projects * AI contracting and governance matters The successful candidate will have a strong background in technology transactions, coupled with experience advising on the legal and governance aspects of artificial intelligence. Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage complex technology transactions with partner support where required. * Advise clients on AI-related contractual, regulatory and governance issues. * Negotiate and draft a wide variety of technology and commercial agreements. * Provide strategic and commercially focused advice on technology procurement and implementation projects. * Manage client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives. * Support and mentor junior lawyers within the team. Candidate Profile * A minimum of 6 years' post-qualification experience. * Significant experience in technology transactions gained within a leading law firm or relevant in-house environment. * Proven exposure to AI contracting, governance or regulatory matters. * Strong knowledge of commercial technology agreements, including: o Warranties and indemnities o Limitation of liability provisions o Service levels (SLAs) o Change control mechanisms o Transition and exit arrangements o Software escrow arrangements * Excellent drafting, negotiation and client management skills. * The ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and commercially. * A genuine interest in developing expertise within the rapidly evolving AI legal landscape.
