Chief Data Officer (CDO)
to shape the future of data across the organisation.
This is a board-level leadership opportunity to define and execute the company's data strategy, transforming how data is used to improve customer experience, optimise operations and accelerate commercial growth. You'll lead a multidisciplinary data function spanning Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Science and Machine Learning, helping embed a truly data-driven culture across the business.
Working closely with the executive team, you'll ensure data becomes a strategic advantage across marketing, ecommerce, merchandising, operations and customer experience.

What you'll be doing
* Develop and execute the company's enterprise-wide data strategy, ensuring it supports long-term commercial objectives.
* Build and lead high-performing teams across Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Science and Machine Learning.
* Create a modern, scalable data platform capable of supporting advanced analytics, AI and real-time decision making.
* Partner with executive stakeholders across Ecommerce, Marketing, Product, Operations and Finance to unlock commercial value through data.
* Champion a data-driven culture by improving data literacy, governance and accessibility across the business.
* Drive innovation through predictive modelling, customer segmentation, recommendation engines, forecasting and personalisation.
* Oversee data governance, security, privacy and regulatory compliance across all customer and business data.
* Evaluate emerging AI, machine learning and analytics technologies that can create competitive advantage.
* Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks that provide clear visibility into business performance and customer behaviour.
What you'll need
* Previous experience as a Chief Data Officer, VP Data, Head of Data or another senior data leadership role within an ecommerce, retail, marketplace or consumer-focused business.
* A proven track record of building and scaling multidisciplinary data teams.
* Strong commercial understanding with the ability to translate complex data into measurable business outcomes.
* Deep knowledge of modern cloud-based data platforms and analytics architectures.
* Experience leading Data Engineering, Data Science, Business Intelligence and Analytics functions.
* Strong understanding of machine learning, predictive analytics, experimentation and AI applications within ecommerce.
* Hands-on knowledge of modern data technologies including Python, SQL, dbt, Snowflake, Databricks and Apache Spark.
* Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
* Knowledge of orchestration and workflow technologies such as Airflow and containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
* Experience building modern BI environments using tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence board-level decision making.
* Experience operating within Agile product and engineering environments.
Nice to have
* Experience implementing recommendation engines, pricing optimisation or customer lifetime value modelling.
* Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs and AI-powered customer experiences.
* Experience supporting international ecommerce growth and multi-market operations.
* Background in subscription, loyalty or omnichannel retail businesses.
