SEO \& AI Search Specialist (AEO/GEO) – Digital Agency Part-Time Opportunity – 3–4 Days per Week Remote, UK-based role | Oxfordshire-based team with quarterly in-person meet-ups £35,000–£45,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata, depending on experience About Urban Element Urban Element is a digital marketing agency helping ambitious construction, manufacturing, engineering and logistics businesses become more visible, credible and competitive online. Search sits at the heart of our digital marketing approach. We combine technical SEO, content, commercial insight and website expertise to help clients reach the right audiences and generate measurable business opportunities. As search continues to evolve beyond traditional search-engine results, we are also developing our approach to Answer Engine Optimisation, Generative Engine Optimisation and visibility across AI-assisted discovery platforms. We are now looking for an experienced SEO specialist to help us strengthen and evolve this area of the agency. The Opportunity This is a hands-on organic search role for someone with experience developing and delivering SEO strategies across multiple agency clients. You will own SEO delivery across a portfolio of predominantly B2B accounts, working closely with our Account Manager, content team, developers and wider marketing team. Alongside established SEO disciplines, you will help clients respond to the changing search landscape by improving how their expertise, content and websites are discovered, interpreted and referenced by both conventional search engines and AI-powered answer platforms. We do not expect applicants to claim years of experience in a discipline that is still evolving. We are looking for someone with strong SEO foundations, genuine curiosity and an evidence-led approach to AI search, AEO and GEO. This is a specialist organic and AI-search role rather than a broad digital marketing position. What You’ll Be Doing SEO Strategy and Delivery * Developing SEO strategies aligned with clients’ commercial objectives * Conducting technical, on-page, content and competitor audits * Building keyword strategies based on commercial intent and genuine customer demand * Creating and refining SEO sitemaps and content structures * Producing clear recommendations for new and existing websites * Optimising page titles, metadata, headings, copy and internal linking * Identifying technical issues affecting crawling, indexing, performance and visibility * Working with developers to ensure recommendations are implemented correctly * Monitoring organic performance and continually improving the strategy * Identifying opportunities to improve traffic quality, conversions and lead generation AI Search, AEO and GEO * Helping clients understand how AI-assisted search is changing online discovery * Reviewing how brands appear across relevant AI-generated answers and search experiences * Identifying opportunities to improve brand mentions, citations and topical authority * Structuring content so that it clearly answers important customer questions * Improving the clarity, accuracy and retrievability of website information * Considering entity signals, structured data, expert evidence and source credibility * Working with content colleagues to develop material that is useful to both people and search or answer platforms * Testing and evaluating emerging AI-search tools and measurement approaches * Separating evidence-based opportunities from short-term industry hype * Helping Urban Element develop a credible and commercially useful AI-search proposition Content and Authority * Creating strategic content briefs based on search demand and customer intent * Working with writers to improve the quality, structure and usefulness of content * Identifying topic gaps and opportunities to demonstrate genuine expertise * Advising on internal linking, content clusters and information architecture * Supporting digital PR, authority-building and off-site visibility strategies where appropriate * Ensuring SEO recommendations support the client’s brand, audience and commercial positioning Measurement and Commercial Insight * Using Google Search Console, GA4, SEO tools and CRM information to evaluate performance * Looking beyond rankings and traffic to understand lead quality and commercial impact * Monitoring changes in visibility, engagement and conversion performance * Producing reports that clearly explain what has happened, why it matters and what should happen next * Identifying opportunities to increase activity where performance supports further investment * Setting realistic expectations and avoiding unsupported promises Client and Team Collaboration * Managing SEO delivery across multiple client accounts * Prioritising work according to likely impact and client objectives * Explaining technical or complex topics in clear, accessible language * Working collaboratively with Account Management, PPC, content, social media and development colleagues * Contributing to client meetings and strategic reviews * Sharing knowledge and helping develop our internal SEO and AI-search processes * Taking ownership of recommendations through to implementation and review What We’re Looking For Essential Experience * At least three years’ hands-on SEO experience * Experience managing multiple client accounts within a digital agency or comparable consultancy environment * Strong understanding of technical, on-page and content-led SEO * Experience conducting audits and turning findings into prioritised actions * Experience developing keyword and content strategies * Working knowledge of Google Search Console and GA4 * Experience using established SEO platforms such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog or equivalent * Demonstrable examples of improving organic visibility, traffic quality, leads or revenue * Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills * Confidence working with developers, content specialists and client stakeholders Highly Desirable * Practical exposure to AEO, GEO or AI-search visibility * Experience monitoring brand visibility across AI-assisted platforms * Understanding of structured data, entities and semantic search * Experience with B2B and considered-purchase search strategies * Experience working with construction, manufacturing, engineering or logistics businesses * Exposure to digital PR, link acquisition or authority-building strategies * Experience supporting website migrations, restructures or new website projects * Knowledge of CRO and landing-page optimisation The Person We’re Looking For You are likely to be someone who: * Has strong SEO
