Research Engineer - AI / ML / LLM We are partnered with a global leader in the semiconductor industry. The team is looking to hire a Research Engineer to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects spanning both applied and fundamental research, with a focus on applying AI to semiconductor design and optimisation. This is a permanent opportunity based in London or Cambourne, UK. Key responsibilities for this Research Engineer position: * Implement and test research ideas across machine learning and AI. * Build prototypes and support experiments for team and company projects. * Collaborate with researchers to translate theoretical models into practical systems. * Maintain and improve research infrastructure, tools, and workflows. * Prepare technical documentation and reports. Key requirements: * Experience implementing machine learning algorithms and techniques. * Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages. * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. * Clear written and verbal communication skills. * Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX) advantageous. * Experience with optimisation, reinforcement learning, or LLMs a plus. * Exposure to chip design or applied AI research desirable.
