As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Principal Data Scientist – Precision Biomarkers in Skin Health to play a pivotal role in shaping our scientific platform, leading client-facing scientific projects and helping translate breakthrough research into products used by global skincare and pharmaceutical companies. The Role Reporting to the Head of Data Science, you'll work at the intersection of skin biology, bioinformatics and AI to discover novel biomarkers, develop predictive models and translate complex biological datasets into scientific insights and customer-facing products. This is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role for someone who sees data as more than numbers. You enjoy uncovering the biological story within complex datasets and communicating those insights through scientific writing, publications, presentations and conversations with clients and collaborators. About You You're a scientist first, with deep computational expertise. You probably began your career in biology, molecular biology, genetics, dermatology or another life science before specialising in bioinformatics or computational biology . Ideally, you've built your expertise in skin biology, dermatology, skin ageing, melanoma or a closely related area , giving you a deep understanding of both the biology and the computational approaches needed to generate meaningful insights. You don't just analyse data. You enjoy interpreting it, connecting it back to biology, and communicating the story it tells. Whether you're writing a publication, presenting to a client or discussing results with colleagues, you're able to turn complex analyses into clear, evidence-based scientific narratives that inform research, shape products and help clients make better decisions. You should apply if you have: * An MSc, PhD or equivalent industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or a related discipline * A strong background in skin biology, dermatology, skin ageing, melanoma or a closely related field * 5+ years' experience developing bioinformatics and ML solutions * Deep experience analysing NGS, DNA methylation and other high-dimensional omics datasets * Strong Python skills and experience developing reproducible bioinformatics workflows * Experience designing scientific studies or analysing clinical research datasets * Experience working directly with external clients, collaborators or commercial partners * Excellent written communication skills, with experience writing scientific reports, publications, conference abstracts or white papers * Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex science to both technical and non-technical audiences * The ability to independently lead scientific projects from concept through delivery in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
