Position: Data Scientist
About the Company:
Nexus Brands Group (“Nexus”) is a family of leading brands and businesses that design, manufacture, market, and distribute furniture, equipment and supplies to professional customers serving the tattoo, pet grooming and spa/salon markets across Europe and the US. Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Data Scientist. In this key role, you will work with stakeholders across all the businesses in the group to develop global reports as well as specific focused reporting for specific areas of each business. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Python or have transferable programming experience, as this is the foundation of our data analysis, data engineering, automation and reporting pipelines.
You will produce web dashboards using Streamlit. You'll ensure reports and code are versioned and documented in line with best practices.
You will work with our lead data scientist to create reports to proactively investigate our datasets and report back to the wider business to drive strategy.
You'll experience the full cycle of a diverse modern business — e-commerce, retail and wholesale — gaining hands-on exposure to operational, marketing, financial and commercial data alike. It's a rare chance to see how the whole picture fits together rather than a single slice of it.
About you:
You combine hands-on technical skills with the ability to work closely with people at all levels to ensure your analysis delivers the business value we require.
Essential requirements -
• Knowledge of Python or similar programming language for data analysis and insight (e.g., IDL , R)
• Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
• Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
• A desire to constantly be learning and the enthusiasm to tackle new challenges
Desirable requirements -
• A degree in a Scientific or Mathematical field would be advantageous. The ideal candidiate would have a PhD in a Scientific or Mathematical field.
• Familiarity with CLI Linux
• Git and version control experience
• Familiarity with LLM accelerated coding e.g., Claude, Codex etc.
• Familarity with Python dashboarding.
• Experience working in the e-commerce space, and working with e-commerce data sources
• Comfortable working with data from a wide range of sources (e.g. csv, JSON, XML, SQL)
• Experience working with REST or SOAP APIs to export data.

Hybrid preferred, but Remote considered for the right candidate (UK-based). Offices in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland \& Barnsley, Sheffield.. Salary £37,000— 42,000 DOE.
