ABOUT THE DATA ANALYTICS DEPARTMENT
Our analytics team is instrumental in ensuring we deliver high-grade data and analytics for subscribers, clients, and for internal departments. We are tasked with assisting the development of the data products, improving the quality of analytics, and contributing to business strategy discussions from a data-led perspective.
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Data Analytics, you will be working on an international basis supporting the business globally and delivering a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders. As a Data Developer, you will design, build, and maintain the data pipelines, ingestion processes, and structured data models that power our data ecosystem, including the use of AI tools to extract and contextualise data at scale. You will also play a key role in developing our ontology and knowledge graph layer, using graph database technologies to model relationships between entities across our content and intelligence platforms. You will be responsible for creating efficiencies, maintaining and enriching the data ecosystem, and partnering with stakeholders to turn raw and unstructured sources into reliable, production-ready data products. These activities are critical to maintaining a data-led business mindset, ensuring accurate decision-making for senior leaders, and more efficient operational workflows. You will also take ownership of the search and AI query layer — designing how data products are indexed, retrieved, and surfaced to users through semantic search and LLM-powered query interfaces.
The day to day responsibilities as part of the team are varied, your duties will include but are not limited to:
*Data Engineering \& Pipeline Development*
* Building, maintaining, and optimising our database infrastructure and data pipelines in a warehouse environment and constantly improving data quality
* Developing and maintaining data ingestion processes, including web crawling and scraping using frameworks such as Scrapy, Firecrawl, or similar tools, and extracting data from diverse sources using AI tools
* Building and maintaining data transformation processes within the warehouse environment, from both structured and unstructured data, for use in data visualization and self-service platforms
* Designing and populating structured data models and tables that capture entities through their lifecycle, and building ontologies to map the relationships between these entities, including representing these ontologies in graph database structures (e.g. Neo4j, Memgraph, Cypher) where appropriate
* Designing and managing AI-powered search and indexing pipelines using platforms such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, including index schema design, vector index construction, semantic search configuration, and natural language query layer design that surface data products to end users
*Data Products \& Analytics*
* Building and publishing data products, including interactive dashboards, that turn structured data into actionable intelligence for subscribers, clients, and internal teams
* Supporting and leading projects for the development of business insight and strategy through delivery via our analytics tools and data modelling software
* Free space to innovate, creating/discovering new tools/processes to keep our team at the forefront of analytics technology
* Keeping Aspermont and our analytics team ahead of the curve through proven innovative ideas taken to fruition
*Project Leadership \& Ownership*
* Autonomously leading projects to produce new data oriented commercial products and enhancement of existing ones, including through cross-functional projects
* Able to manage complete ownership of specific data development and data engineering functions
* Formulating, assessing hypotheses, managing stakeholders’ expectations around development and delivery
* Hosting discussions around decision-making
*Stakeholder Management \& Commercial Growth*
* Developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to scope out and deliver new commercial opportunities end-to-end for the business to expand our footprint and increase revenue
* Managing cross-functional deliverables to improve collaboration and directly impacting efficiency to enable business growth
* Training and upskilling any potential new analysts.
* Evidencing how your peers and stakeholders are adapting to a more data led approach as a direct result of your work with them

* Experience working with cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake), including building data lakes, managing freetext/unstructured storage, and modelling data into structured tables
* Experience building and publishing data products and interactive dashboards using data visualisation tools
*AI, Machine Learning \& Advanced Analytics*
* Experience applying AI and Large Language Models (e.g. Claude) to extract, contextualise, and structure data from unstructured sources, with an understanding of prompt engineering and AI-assisted data workflows
* Experience designing or working with ontologies and entity-relationship models to map connections across datasets with hands-on graph database experience (e.g. Neo4j, Memgraph, Cypher)
* Hands-on experience with graph analytics, modelling and querying knowledge graphs, traversing entity relationships, and surfacing patterns from connected data
* Experience designing and deploying search platforms (e.g. Elasticsearch, OpenSearch), including index schema design, hybrid retrieval pipelines (BM25 + vector), and integrating search with LLM-powered natural language query layers
