AI Engineering Intern, Investment Banking

Areta is an investment bank built for digital assets, advising on M\&A, fundraising, and capital markets. We are the most active M\&A adviser in the sector, with over $1bn of deal volume in 2025, and our team comes from backgrounds like Blackstone, J.P. Morgan, and McKinsey.

If you want to build high-impact tooling at the intersection of tech and investment banking, this is the role for you. You will design, deploy, and maintain the internal tools powering our deal execution and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify operational bottlenecks and opportunities for automation, working with Operations and the banking team to review processes end-to-end.
• Build production-ready tools, workflows, and automations that improve how the business operates.
• Integrate our core systems, including our CRM and Google Workspace, through APIs and automations to create a connected technology stack.
• Own what you build in production, monitoring performance, fixing issues, and continuously improving speed, reliability, and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Currently studying, or recently graduated in, a technical or quantitative subject such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, AI, or machine learning.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Google Apps Script, sufficient to understand what you are building and diagnose it when it breaks.
• Demonstrable experience building with low-code or no-code platforms such as Zapier, Make, n8n, or Power Automate, including conditional logic, loops, data transformation, and error handling.
• Strong practical fluency with AI tools, system integrations, APIs, and automation platforms.
