Senior Data Analyst – AI \& Insight
Salary
£65,000 - £80,000 + benefits
Location
Central London – Hybrid 3 days
Our client is a global luxury travel business investing significantly in its Data \& AI capability and transforming how analysis is delivered across the organisation.
The business is building a more AI-first Data \& Analytics function, with AI becoming embedded into how the team interrogates data, writes and reviews code, automates recurring analysis and produces commercial insight.
They are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who combines strong analytical thinking, commercial judgement and excellent communication with genuinely advanced, hands-on use of AI.
This is not a traditional BI or dashboarding role. You’ll use AI, LLMs and agentic workflows alongside SQL, BigQuery and Python to solve ambiguous commercial problems, accelerate analysis and turn complex data into clear recommendations for stakeholders across Marketing, Sales and the wider business.
The Opportunity
- Join a growing Data \& Analytics function where AI is becoming fundamental to how analysis is delivered
- Use AI, LLMs, code assistants and agentic workflows as a genuine part of your day-to-day analytical process
- Work beyond basic chat-based AI, using it to interrogate data, generate and review code, automate analysis, debug problems and validate outputs
- Analyse customer, marketing, sales and booking data across BigQuery, HubSpot, GA4 and advertising platforms
- Solve ambiguous commercial questions where there may be no existing query, dashboard or obvious starting point
- Move beyond reporting what happened to understand why it happened and what the business should do next
- Turn complex analysis into clear, commercially focused recommendations
- Present directly to senior leadership, Board and PE-level stakeholders
- Partner closely with Performance Marketing, CRM, Growth, Sales and wider commercial teams
- Operate as a senior individual contributor and analytical reference point for more junior analysts without direct people-management responsibility
Responsibilities
- Embed AI throughout the analytical process, from exploration and coding through to automation, validation and delivery
- Use AI to generate and interrogate SQL/Python, debug problems, automate repeatable work and accelerate analysis
- Query and analyse raw data using SQL, BigQuery and Python
- Apply human judgement to AI-generated outputs, recognising errors and knowing when findings need to be challenged or investigated further
- Build robust commercial analysis and models across SQL, Python, Excel and notebooks
- Identify trends, anomalies and opportunities across customer, marketing, sales and commercial performance
- Translate complex findings into clear recommendations that influence business decisions
- Build compelling leadership-ready narratives and presentations
- Challenge assumptions where stakeholder perceptions do not align with what the data is showing
- Work independently on high-impact analytical problems with limited existing structure
- Support more junior analysts and help establish best practice around AI-assisted analysis
Your Profile
- 5+ years' experience across Data Analytics, Commercial Analytics, Customer Analytics, Insights or a related analytical discipline
- Strong evidence of AI being embedded into your day-to-day analytical workflow – basic ChatGPT, Copilot or browser-based LLM usage alone will not be sufficient
- Experience using AI for analysis, code generation and interrogation, automation, debugging, documentation and validation
- Exposure to Claude or Claude Code, Git/version control, terminal or IDE-based AI tooling and agentic workflows would be highly relevant
- Experience with tools or concepts such as OpenClaw, OpenSpec, agent handoffs or similar approaches would be advantageous
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking with a natural curiosity around why something is happening rather than simply reporting that it has
- Good SQL capability and enough technical understanding to interpret, challenge and validate AI-generated code
- Python familiarity is useful, although advanced Python expertise is not essential
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to turn analysis into clear business recommendations
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to simplify complex findings for senior, non-technical audiences
- Comfortable working independently and solving ambiguous commercial problems
- Experience within travel, luxury or another considered-purchase business would be advantageous but is not essential
- Broader commercial, customer, product, marketing and insight analytics backgrounds are all relevant
- Most importantly, you’ll want to remain hands-on and develop at the forefront of AI-enabled analytics rather than move into a purely people-management role
