I've got too many projects on. I need help.
Not normal projects either. One minute I'm implementing a new platform across the business. The next I'm building something in Claude Code or Cursor, connecting systems with Zapier, or asking why on earth we're still doing something manually.
Basically, I'm a bit of a geek. The problem is, I'm also supposed to be running the company.
So I'm looking for a Head Geek. And yes, I made the job title up.
I'm Sam, Managing Director of Time For You, the UK's leading domestic cleaning franchise brand. I have a slightly unusual obsession with how AI can make a relatively small company considerably more efficient.
This isn't IT support. You won't spend your days resetting passwords (we have someone for that!). It's not a true developer role either. You'll work directly with me, turning my ideas into actual, finished, working projects.
Your week could include implementing systems like a CRM, working on AI projects with ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor, building Zapier automations, creating small internal tools and chatbots, managing domains, integrations and APIs, and taking ownership of projects from "Sam's had another idea" to "it's live". Then testing things. Then testing them again.
Who am I looking for?
I'm not going to demand seven years' experience with an AI platform invented eighteen months ago. Most of this can be learned. I'm far more interested in how your brain works.
You're naturally curious about technology. You experiment, you break things, then work out why. Prompts, tokens, APIs and automations don't frighten you. You're organised enough to juggle several projects and actually finish them. And you're crazy about testing.
You also need a personality. Hiding behind three monitors with your headphones on isn't going to work here. We're a family-owned company with a small, close Head Office team. We work hard, laugh a lot and challenge each other. I want someone with opinions who can take a joke and tell me when I'm doing something stupid.
Qualifications aren't particularly important to me. The person is.
Progression? Loads, but you'll drive it. In recent months we've had a PA progress into management and a social media hire become Head of Marketing. If you're brilliant, the role grows with you.
The practical stuff: around 20 hours per week, mixing our Northampton town centre office with flexible home working, plus company events, the odd lunch on us and real investment in your development.
TOP TIP: Don't just click Apply and stop. Our last two vacancies attracted 300+ applications each and I'm pretty brutal when selecting. Expect at least three stages.
So shine. Do some homework on us, think creatively when applying. Tell me what you've built or your ideas, automated or broken, and which AI tools you genuinely use. Include the word 'Banana' in your application.
And please don't ask ChatGPT to write you a generic cover letter, because I'll be able to tell!
Good luck and I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
