AI governance investment stewardship lead Investors could play a greater role in helping companies and humanity navigate the upcoming wave of AI disruption. The Investor AI Resource Hub is a new non-profit that will enable this by producing research and resources on how AI governance and safety are material to investment decisions and stewardship. The Investor AI Resource Hub is looking to hire an individual to lead work engaging and supporting investment stewardship teams on AI governance and responsible AI. Core activities * Investor AI Governance Guidance Initiative: Omidyar Network are funding a project to develop more detailed guidance for investors on what is best practice for company AI governance and risk management, through a multi-stakeholder process involving investors, investor network, AI and corporate governance network, and a consulting partner. The Investor AI Resource Hub is a partner of this project. The planned role will liaise with and support this project by providing technical input on the deliverables, supporting efforts to engage investors in the initiative, and ensuring the project is informed by stewardship best practices. * Produce resources and research: Produce briefings for investors on different aspects of AI governance that are relevant for investor stewardship – ranging from managing cyber security risks, to understanding the climate impacts of AI infrastructure. Briefings may take the form of short news responses, adding an investment angle to existing AI governance research, or conducting new in-depth research. * Investor engagement: Engage investor stewardship teams to steadily build the community of investors working on AI governance, building on the 400+ investor contacts that the Hub has generated to date. * Expert speakers: Find and host relevant expert speakers on the same topics as the research – e.g. from AI governance and safety bodies, academics, civil society, and the AI industry. * Resource database and weekly e-mail: A core output of the Investor AI Resource Hub will be a database of resources and a weekly update e-mail for investors. All team members will contribute to keeping this up to date and writing the weekly e-mail. Experience and competencies * Experience working in public equities stewardship. We are targeting 4-8 years experience, but open to a wider range. The role can be adjusted to suit the individual. * An entrepreneurial approach and a willingness to work in a start-up environment given that the Investor AI Resource Hub is a new entity pioneering a new area of investment research and filling a gap in the ecosystem of AI governance non-profits. * Strong motivation to work on AI governance and safety, and belief in the importance of these topics to society and investors. Compensation and location * Compensation in-line with AI governance and investor non-profits. * The individual can be based in any location (the head of the Hub is based in the UK). * Part-time is possible, with a preference for at least 25 hours per week.
