Health Informatics Specialist / data Scientist

Join us at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and play a pivotal role in an exciting NHS England-funded innovation project. Working alongside clinicians, researchers and digital teams, you will use advanced analytics, machine learning and patient-reported outcome data (PROMs) to help transform Rheumatology services across Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire. This is a unique opportunity to apply data science in a real-world healthcare setting, developing innovative solutions that improve patient outcomes, reduce waiting lists and increase service capacity. Main duties include: Leading the data science and analytical activity for an innovative Rheumatology project. Developing and applying statistical and machine learning models using clinical and patient-reported outcome (PROMs) data. Managing, analysing and interpreting complex healthcare datasets while maintaining high standards of data quality and information governance. Working collaboratively with clinicians, researchers, digital teams and IT colleagues to deliver data-driven solutions. Producing reports, dashboards and visualisations that support decision-making and service improvement. Providing specialist advice on analytics, artificial intelligence and data science methodologies. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with complex datasets, strong skills in data analysis and programming, an ability to communicate complex information clearly to non-technical audiences, and a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.
