About the role
For most of the concepts that we develop, the journey begins with creating a python simulation (or similar) to understand the proposed technique/algorithm. The concept is then matured to use real data with SDRs or from our own hardware. Finally, the technique is fully ported to our hardware, typically in OpenCPI (C++ and VHDL).
For this role we are looking for a specialist in Machine Learning to assist in the above with main emphasis at the earlier stage. We are looking for the principal skillset in ML and secondary skillsets in DSP and algorithms.
The primary duty will be to develop machine learning techniques for embedded Radio Frequency (RF) platforms and desktop systems used in Electronic Warfare. On a day-to-day basis the role will include developing offline with the usual libraries (e.g. tensorflow), then using techniques such as quantisation to show that it can run on target hardware.
Duties will include;
* Delivery of concept demonstrators up to field trial level
* Help identifying new techniques that can advance the product
* Provide expertise in the area of ML and algorithms to the company
* Any other reasonable duties required to support the company in meeting its objectives
* Working to Kirintec’s ISO standards
About you
You will be able to;
* Demonstrate best practices around training and deploying ML models
* Showcase demonstrable history of using ML/algorithms/statistical techniques to solve real world problems (ideally on FPGA or embedded processors)
* Prove practical experience of DSP in RF comms domain (or similar domain)
* Demonstrate expert knowledge in python and libraries such as numpy, pytorch/tensorflow
* Show knowledge of key software development tools e.g. Git, Docker, Jenkins
* Prove experience with software-defined radio (SDR) systems
