AI Apprentice – Level 3 AI Champion Location: Eccleston, Chorley Salary: £12,500 starting salary Hours: 30 paid hours per week Working pattern: Monday, Wednesday and Friday on site; Thursday apprenticeship study/training Apprenticeship provider: Kaplan The Opportunity We are looking for a curious, reliable and motivated person to join us as an AI Apprentice. You do not need to be an AI expert or have lots of work experience. We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in technology, enjoys learning and wants to build a long-term career. Alongside your role, you will complete Kaplan’s AI Champion Level 3 apprenticeship, developing practical skills in AI tools, workflow improvement, automation, troubleshooting and responsible AI use. Our current COO originally joined the organisation as an apprentice around 10 years ago and progressed through the business into the executive team. We want this apprenticeship to offer the same kind of genuine development opportunity: learn the business, build valuable skills, take on increasing responsibility and potentially develop into a long-term role with us. What You Will Do The role will develop as your skills and confidence grow. Initially, you will help with: * General administration and office support * Data entry and record keeping * Documents, correspondence and shared inboxes * Meetings, diaries and office enquiries * Microsoft Office and other business systems * Supporting colleagues across different departments As you progress, you will become increasingly involved in AI and business improvement, including: * Understanding existing workflows * Identifying opportunities to improve processes using AI * Testing approved AI tools * Creating prompts, templates and simple workflows * Checking AI-generated work for accuracy * Creating guides and helping colleagues use AI effectively * Supporting wider AI projects across the organisation Who We Are Looking For You may be leaving school or college, looking for your first career opportunity, or taking a different route into technology. We are more interested in your potential and attitude than a long CV. You should be: * Genuinely interested in AI and technology * Curious and willing to learn independently * Reliable, organised and accurate * Comfortable using computers and learning new systems * Able to communicate clearly * Willing to ask questions and accept feedback * Interested in solving problems and improving how things are done * Prepared to commit to both the job and the apprenticeship study Experience using tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini is helpful but not essential. Working Pattern The normal week is: Monday: 8 hours – working on site Tuesday: Non-working day Wednesday: 8 hours – working on site Thursday: 6 hours – apprenticeship study/training Friday: 8 hours – working on site You must be able to reliably travel to our workplace in Eccleston, Chorley every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
