Position Overview We are seeking an AI Automation \& Business Development Engineer to identify, design, and implement AI-powered solutions that automate business processes, improve operational efficiency, and support revenue growth. This is a hybrid technical and commercial role. The successful candidate will work across departments to identify automation opportunities, build AI-enabled workflows and systems, and explore how artificial intelligence can be used to improve lead generation, sales, customer engagement, market research, and overall business development. Key ResponsibilitiesAI Automation \& Workflow Engineering * Identify repetitive, manual, and inefficient business processes that can be automated using AI. * Design, build, test, and maintain end-to-end AI-powered automation workflows. * Integrate AI models and tools with CRM, ERP, email, databases, spreadsheets, communication platforms, and other business systems. * Develop automations using APIs, webhooks, workflow automation platforms, and custom scripts where required. * Implement AI agents and LLM-based workflows for tasks such as document processing, data extraction, classification, summarization, customer communication, reporting, and internal operations. * Build appropriate human-in-the-loop approval processes for business-critical AI workflows. * Monitor automation performance, troubleshoot failures, and continuously improve reliability, accuracy, speed, and cost efficiency. * Maintain technical documentation for workflows, integrations, prompts, APIs, and automation architecture. * Ensure appropriate security, privacy, access controls, and governance are incorporated into AI automation solutions. AI-Driven Business Development * Identify opportunities to use AI to generate leads, qualify prospects, and improve sales productivity. * Develop automated systems for prospect research, lead enrichment, segmentation, qualification, and outreach preparation. * Use AI to analyze markets, competitors, customer needs, and potential business opportunities. * Support sales teams with AI-powered research, proposals, presentations, meeting preparation, and follow-up processes. * Build automated CRM workflows to improve pipeline management, lead tracking, follow-ups, and reporting. * Identify new AI-enabled products, services, or business models that could generate revenue. * Work with management to evaluate the commercial potential and ROI of AI initiatives. * Track business development KPIs, including lead generation, conversion rates, pipeline value, automation savings, and revenue impact. Technical Skills The ideal candidate should have experience with some of the following: * Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI * AI agents and agentic workflows * Prompt engineering and structured outputs * APIs, REST APIs, and webhooks * Workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or Microsoft Power Automate * OpenAI and other AI model APIs * Python and/or JavaScript * CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar systems * Databases, spreadsheets, and data-processing tools * Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and knowledge-base systems * AI-powered document processing and data extraction * Cloud-based business applications and integrations Business Skills * Strong understanding of business processes and workflow analysis. * Ability to translate business requirements into practical AI solutions. * Understanding of sales funnels, lead generation, CRM processes, and business development. * Commercial mindset with an ability to evaluate ROI and business impact. * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. * Ability to explain AI and automation concepts to non-technical teams. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance may be measured through: * Hours of manual work eliminated through automation * Cost savings generated by AI automation * Number and quality of processes successfully automated * Automation reliability and adoption * Leads generated or qualified through AI-enabled processes * Improvement in sales conversion and response rates * Growth in qualified sales pipeline * Revenue influenced or generated through AI initiatives * ROI of implemented AI solutions Qualifications * Degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Data Science, or a related field. * Practical experience implementing AI and/or business-process automation solutions. * Experience integrating multiple software systems through APIs or automation platforms. * Experience with sales, marketing, business development, or CRM automation is highly desirable. * Demonstrable interest in emerging AI technologies and their practical application within businesses. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate combines the mindset of an automation engineer, AI solutions specialist, and business developer. They should not simply experiment with AI tools; they should be capable of identifying a business problem, designing an appropriate AI-enabled solution, implementing it, measuring its effectiveness, and demonstrating a tangible commercial or operational outcome. The role requires someone who can bridge the gap between technology and business growth, using AI both to reduce operational workload and to create new opportunities for revenue. Pay: Up to £2,200.00 per month Work Location: Remote
