About Us:
Inference Group is a team of engineers, consultants and innovators who believe artificial intelligence can fundamentally improve the way organisations work.
Our mission is to help businesses realise genuine value from data and AI - not just through prototypes, but by redesigning how work gets done and building solutions that operate reliably in the real world.
We help our clients transform processes, make better decisions and adopt new ways of working by combining applied AI, data, technology and practical consulting. As we grow, we’re looking for people who are naturally curious, hands-on and excited by the opportunity to solve complex business problems using emerging technology.
The Role:
We’re looking for a
Technical AI Business Analyst
to join a major business transformation programme for a large UK organisation.
This is a hybrid role sitting at the intersection of
business analysis, process transformation and applied AI
. You’ll work with business teams to understand how work happens today, identify opportunities to simplify or redesign processes, and help translate those opportunities into practical AI-enabled solutions.
A key part of the role will be identifying where
AI agents, automated workflows and generative AI
can remove manual effort, improve decision-making or enable entirely new ways of working.
This isn’t a traditional Business Analyst role where you simply gather requirements and hand them over to a technical team. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable getting hands-on with AI tools, experimenting with solutions and building or configuring agents and workflows themselves.
You might be mapping a business process in the morning, running a requirements workshop with stakeholders in the afternoon and then prototyping an AI agent or automated workflow to test an idea.
You’ll work closely with consultants, AI engineers, data specialists and client teams to take opportunities from
business problem through to solution design and delivery
.
Location:
London. Remote with travel to client sites as required
Start Date:
Immediate / within 2–4 weeks
Eligibility:
Must have the permanent right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship)
What you’ll be doing:
* Working with client stakeholders to understand existing processes, pain points, decision points and opportunities for improvement.
* Mapping and redesigning business processes as part of wider transformation programmes.
* Identifying opportunities where AI, automation or agentic solutions could improve how work gets done.
* Translating business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
* Designing future-state processes that incorporate AI agents, automated workflows and human-in-the-loop decision-making.
* Prototyping and building AI agents and workflow automations using tools such as Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Claude or similar platforms.
* Experimenting with agentic AI approaches including prompting, tool use, structured workflows and multi-step tasks.
* Working with Google Cloud-based data environments and collaborating with technical teams to understand how enterprise data can support AI solutions.
* Supporting the design of integrations between AI solutions, data sources and existing business systems.
* Running workshops and discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
* Turning complex technical concepts into clear recommendations, process designs and client-facing documentation.
* Supporting solutions through testing, iteration and implementation rather than stopping at proof-of-concept stage.
* Working closely with AI engineers, data engineers and consultants to ensure solutions are practical, scalable and aligned to real business needs.
* Challenging assumptions, testing AI outputs and considering risks such as accuracy, controls, security and responsible AI.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t have to tick every box but ideally we’re looking for someone who combines strong business analysis skills with genuine curiosity and hands-on experience with AI. You’ll likely bring:
* Experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Transformation Analyst, AI Analyst or similar role.
* Strong experience analysing, documenting and redesigning business processes.
* Confidence running discovery sessions, requirements workshops and stakeholder interviews.
* The ability to translate business problems into structured requirements and practical technology solutions.
* Hands-on experience building or configuring AI agents, automated workflows or generative AI solutions.
* Experience with one or more modern AI platforms such as Gemini, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI or similar tools.
* An understanding of how agentic AI systems work, including prompts, tools, workflows, orchestration and human oversight.
* The confidence to prototype ideas yourself rather than relying entirely on engineering teams.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both senior business stakeholders and technical teams.
* A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset - you care about whether a solution actually works and creates value.
Useful Additional Experience
We think that experience in any of the following would be valuable:
* Google Cloud Platform and Google’s AI ecosystem.
* Gemini or Vertex AI.
* Microsoft Copilot or Copilot Studio.
* Claude and Claude-based agent development.
* Workflow automation or orchestration tools.
* APIs and systems integration.
* Python, SQL or other light scripting.
* Process modelling and business process redesign.
* Enterprise-scale transformation programmes.
* AI governance, responsible AI or human-in-the-loop design.
* Consulting or working directly with enterprise clients.
The Kind of Person that will Thrive Here:
You should be technically curious and comfortable building things. When you see an inefficient process, your instinct is to understand why it works that way, whether it should work that way, and whether AI could make it better.
You’re comfortable moving between business conversations and technology. You can engage senior stakeholders, structure an ambiguous problem, map a process and then open an AI tool and start experimenting.
Most importantly, you’re excited about what AI makes possible - but pragmatic enough to know that the technology only matters if it solves a genuine business problem.
