We typically process images, video and LiDAR data, as well as multi-band satellite imagery. We are the UK’s biggest processor of visual transmission line data.
About the role
As a senior member of the development team, you will be at the centre of solving complex technical challenges using machine learning, neural networks and traditional computer vision. You will be developing models and data pipelines, as well as improving our in-house model prototyping tools. You’ll work closely with key technical and business leaders to develop the business’s offerings and foster an atmosphere of learning and innovation. This role is ideal for a professional with a passion for applying ML \& CV techniques in the real world.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Design and develop tailored computer vision architectures and machine learning workflows that best solve the problem at hand.
* Lead and manage the end-to-end model lifecycle
* Improve our dataset management and data pipelines using industry best practices
* Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and mentor others
* Proactively propose innovative technical solutions for new projects and research initiatives.

About You
We are looking for a driven and technically strong professional who brings innovation and initiative, and is comfortable taking the lead on complex computer vision projects. You possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, alongside the ability to apply rigorous logic to real-world challenges. You are also an effective communicator who can translate complex technical information to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
Essential
* Right to work and based in the UK
* A PhD (or near completion) in a relevant field, or a Master's degree combined with strong equivalent research or industry experience.
* Strong knowledge of machine learning and computer vision algorithms, with software engineering experience.
* Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in computer vision pipelines
* Experience with SOTA architectures, including multi-modal models, vision and language transformers
* Expert knowledge of Python, Pytorch, MLFlow, NumPy, OpenCV and related libraries
* Experience with packaging tools (poetry, conda, pyenv, uv, etc)
* Strong knowledge of version control tools (git, Github)
* Experience with cloud platforms and containerisation (Docker, GCP) for scalable deployments
Desirable
* 3D Computer Vision \& Spatial Analytics: Experience working with 3D datasets, multi-view geometry, 3D reconstruction, and projecting 2D images onto 3D models.
* Experience training self-supervised foundation models and implementing efficient fine-tuning pipelines.
* Experience with DVC, Pytorch Lightning, LabelStudio
What we offer
We offer a competitive salary in the range of
£65,000 - £80,000
depending on your experience. The role also comes with the benefit of
