About the role
The Technical Business Analyst will bring extensive experience working in complex, data and AI transformation programmes within a consulting or professional services environment.
This role holds end‑to‑end accountability for requirements gathering, Azure DevOps or Jira board managements, and stakeholder management. You will be a confident communicator with strong commercial awareness, independent starter and experienced in managing senior stakeholders across multiple regions and complex organisational landscapes.
Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will provide requirements support, manage the board and the refinement and planning, manage requests for new features, complete analysis and documentation across modern data platform implementations, enterprise AI rollouts, and broader transformation initiatives.
This includes partnering with solution architects, technical project managers, data engineering leads, data science teams, privacy and compliance specialists, and senior business stakeholders to ensure requirements are being delivered as per customer's or SOW specifications.
What you’ll do
* Elicit, document, and prioritise business and technical requirements for data and AI initiatives (i.e. data pipelines, analytics platforms, etc) through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process mapping
* Translate business problems into user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria that development and data science teams can act on
* Perform data analysis and profiling to validate requirements
* Bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams (data engineers, data scientists, BI engineers), translating domain language both ways.
* Own and refine the product backlog: write, refine, and prioritize user stories with clear acceptance criteria and definition of done
* Participate in and help facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint review, retrospectives)
* Work closely with the Product Owner and Project Manager to manage scope, dependencies, and sprint commitments.
* Break down large data/AI initiatives into iterative, deliverable increments (MVPs, proof of concepts, phased rollouts)
* Support the design of dashboards, reports, or AI/ML use cases by clarifying business logic, KPIs, and success metrics.
* Facilitate UAT (user acceptance testing), coordinate test cases, and validate that delivered features meet business needs.
* Ensure data governance, privacy, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, data classification) are captured in requirements.
* Support change management and training as new data/AI capabilities are rolled out
* Maintain documentation: Functional specs, process flows, data dictionaries, etc.
What you’ll bring
* 5+ years of customer facing consulting or project delivery experience
* Experience in environments spanning data platforms, AI/ML deployment, integration, and analytics
* Requirements elicitation and documentation
* Business process mapping
* Data analysis and data profiling
* Translating business needs into user stories/epics with acceptance criteria
