First engineering hire alongside our CTO, with room to grow into a senior/ownership role as the team scales. Candidate profile summary We're looking for a full-stack developer who is genuinely excited about applied AI — someone who has already built solutions with LLMs, voice APIs, or coding agents (not just experimented with them), and who wants to bring that experience into a real product used by hundreds of companies. You'll work directly with our CTO, move fast, and have real ownership over features from idea to production. The Role Skreen.ai is hiring our first full-stack engineer to help build the next generation of AI-powered recruitment tools — smarter candidate screening, automated workflows, voice-driven interview experiences, and intelligent search across candidates and jobs. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role. You won't be handed fully-specced tickets — you'll work closely with the CTO to scope features, build them across the frontend and backend, and ship them to real customers quickly. Responsibilities (what you'll do) * Design and build AI-powered features end-to-end — from UI through to backend logic — across our web application. * Build and integrate voice AI experiences for candidate- and recruiter-facing interactions. * Develop LLM-powered functionality: prompt design, structured outputs, tool/function calling, and simple agentic workflows (e.g. automated screening, question generation, content generation). * Contribute to our smart search and matching capabilities as we extend the platform with semantic/AI-driven search. * Write tests, monitor the performance/cost of AI features in production, and iterate based on real usage. * Collaborate directly with the CTO and, as the team grows, help mentor future junior hires. Must-have skills and experienc * eDegree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative/technical discipline; Master’s and/or PhD preferred * .~1-3 years of professional software development experience * .Real production experience building full-stack web applications (a modern frontend framework, e.g. React, plus a backend/API layer) * .Hands-on experience building features powered by LLMs — prompt engineering, structured/function outputs, memory/context management, guardrails, and tool-calling patterns (e.g. with OpenAI or similar providers) * .Comfortable working with relational/SQL databases (PostgreSQL) — schema design, queries, and data modelling * .Strong TypeScript/JavaScript fundamentals * .Clear written communication — able to explain technical trade-offs to a non-technical audience when needed .
