Hiiya are hiring
MLOps Engineers in Manchester.
And this is proper AI work not “we bought everyone Copilot and now our website says we’re AI-first.”
The company is a specialist MLOps consultancy working with clients to actually build, deploy and productionise machine learning systems.
That means projects involving things like:
* Self-hosted LLMs and AI agents
* RAG systems
* Computer vision
* Model training and serving
* Experiment tracking
* Kubernetes
* Cloud infrastructure
* Open-source MLOps tooling
* Taking interesting prototypes and making them work properly in the real world
They’ve worked across everything from startups and major organisations through to public sector and secure government environments.
I’m recruiting at two levels:
Senior MLOps Engineer | £65k to £80k
This is primarily a hands-on engineering role.
You’ll be building production-grade ML systems in Python, deploying them into cloud environments, working with modern DevOps/MLOps tooling and dealing directly with customers.
You don’t necessarily need “MLOps Engineer” written on your current job title.
You could come from ML Engineering, DevOps, Data Engineering or a similar background, provided you’ve actually built and deployed ML software in production.
Lead MLOps Engineer | £80k to £100k
Still technical \& writing code hands on.
But you’ll also take more ownership of projects, architecture and engineering standards, mentor other engineers, lead delivery and work directly with clients to figure out what they actually need.
So they’re looking for somebody who can explain a technical decision to an engineer, a customer and potentially somebody who thinks Kubernetes is a fitness class.
The wider environment is very engineering-led, they like open source \& they invest time into R\&D.
They actively encourage engineers to experiment with new tools rather than waiting three years for Gartner to tell them it’s safe.
And some of the stuff they’re building is genuinely interesting.
Important logistical bit before 400 people message me asking if it’s remote:
📍 Central Manchester
🏢 Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office
The three office days are fixed.
There’s also an important eligibility requirement.
Some projects require UK Government
SC security clearance
, so you
must have been continuously resident in the UK for at least the last 5 years
.
Unfortunately, that bit isn’t negotiable either.
If you’re an ML Engineer, MLOps Engineer or DevOps-minded engineer who wants to spend more of your time building actual AI systems rather than putting “AI enthusiast” in your LinkedIn headline, what are you waiting for?
