Junior to Mid Level Data \& AI Engineer £45,000 - £65,000 | Hybrid London (1-2 Days per Week) We're working with a rapidly growing AI-focused fintech business that is expanding its engineering team following the launch of a new data and intelligence platform. They are looking to hire Data \& AI Engineers at both Junior and Mid-Level, offering the opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technologies in a highly collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who are passionate about AI and want to gain hands-on experience building real-world applications using modern language models and data technologies. *The Role* You'll work as part of a small engineering team developing AI-powered products and supporting the delivery of solutions for clients operating within financial services. The business embraces AI tooling as part of everyday development, and engineers are encouraged to explore new technologies, experiment and contribute ideas from day one. You'll be involved in building applications, processing and modelling data, integrating AI services and helping shape the future direction of the platform. *What They're Looking For* Mid-Level Engineers * Around 2 years of commercial software engineering experience * Strong Python skills * Experience working with LLM APIs or AI tooling * Interest in AI product development * Ability to work independently and take ownership of work Junior Engineers * Computer Science degree or similar technical background * Strong programming fundamentals * Exposure to Python * Interest in AI, machine learning and emerging technologies * Familiarity with tools such as Claude Code, ChatGPT or similar AI assistants *Desirable Skills* * RAG implementations * Data engineering experience * Azure or Google Cloud exposure * Data modelling * Knowledge of financial services data *Package* * £45,000 - £65,000 depending on experience * Bonus scheme * Share options * Hybrid working (London, 1-2 days per week) * Strong learning and development opportunities * Opportunity to work alongside experienced AI engineers and technical leaders The business is looking to move quickly and is keen to engage with candidates who are excited about building AI products in a fast-growing environment.
