Data and AI Engineer

Mid-Level Data/AI Engineer Location: Farringdon, London (hybrid, one to two days a week in the office) I'm working with a growing fintech and AI consultancy, delivering data and AI engineering projects for some serious names in financial services, who are hiring a mid level engineer to join the team and grow into more senior responsibility as they scale. What you'd be doing: * Building and maintaining data pipelines and AI/ML systems for client projects * Working with Python day to day, alongside LLM APIs for real client use cases * Working directly with senior engineers on production grade, compliance aware AI outputs, not toy projects * Getting exposure to the full lifecycle, from data engineering through to deployed AI systems that clients actually rely on * Having a real voice in technical decisions, even at this level What we're looking for: * Two to four years' experience in data engineering and/or applied AI/ML * Solid, practical Python experience in a work environment * Some experience working with LLM APIs * Comfortable with production data pipelines; exposure to SQL, cloud infrastructure (Azure) or backend development is a bonus * Curious, self directed, and keen to grow quickly; this is a team that will invest in you * Financial services exposure is useful but not essential; the right mindset matters more What's in it for you: * Equity, a genuine stake even at mid level, not just for senior hires * Real flexibility; this team is trusted to work how suits them, not clocked in and out * Fast growth potential: join a small team early and take on more scope quickly * Direct access to senior engineers and leadership, no getting lost in a big org
